Kamryn McIntosh, the sophomore who won the New Balance Nationals Indoor title in the 400 meter dash this past March, might want to consider moving up to challenge for the 800 meter national title in 3 weeks at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor in Greensboro, North Carolina. This past week at the New York Section 1 State Qualifier, McIntosh ran a 2:03 anchor leg split to bring her Suffern team from behind to overtake North Rockland for a US #4 winning time of 8:59.50.
The fastest recorded split nationally this spring by McIntosh, which would be a US leading time if run in an open 800 race. All of New York and the rest of the nation is begging to see a matchup between McIntosh and another New York middle distance talent in New Balance Nationals indoor 800 meter champ Sammy Watson (2:06 PR).
