Grant Holloway is one of the more versatile and athletic high school track & field competitors to ever be produced out of the state of Virginia. Holloway has already won numerous state titles and set national age group and class records in the hurdles along with claiming the New Balance Nationals Indoor title in the 60 meter hurdles title this past March. Only a junior at Grassfield High School, Holloway has another three seasons of high school track & field to build upon his accomplishments even more.
On Friday night at the state of Virginia's elite finals only under the lights invite meet at the Southern Track Classic, Holloway added another honor in becoming the meet's all-time winningest individual athlete after picking up wins in the high jump (6'8"), 110 meter hurdles (14.22), and 300 meter hurdles (37.54 PR).
Not his best day in either the high jump and 110 meter hurdles in terms of matching or bettering his existing all-time bests in both events, but wins nonetheless against top competition. Holloway is still looking for his first sub 14 second race in the 110 meter hurdles remarkably despite being one of the all-time fastest indoors at the 60 and 55 meter hurdles.
Holloway now has won a grand total of 7 individual titles at the Southern Track Classic, which is impressive considering its often tough to simply win one event at this annual event that gathers the best from the state of Virginia. Watch all 3 of his winning performances from Friday night at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Virginia below! Could he reach an unthinkable total of 10 Southern Track Classic titles in 2016? It certainly is within reach for Mr. Holloway!
