In winning the High School Boys Mile Championship at The Penn Relays Carnival, Drew Hunter (Loudon Valley, VA) not only set a huge personal best of 4:07.15 but joined elite company. Prior to Hunter's win, just one schoolboy had ever won both individual distance events at The Penn Relays Carnival. That's Matt Centrowitz, a two-time IAAF World Championships medalist in the 1,500m and current Nike athlete.
It was not a clear or easy victory, however, as a field of multiple-time All-Americans challenged Hunter all the way through the final stretch.
