With the highly anticipated GVSU Elite Mile just one week away, distance star Audrey Belf wasted no time in getting a tune-up race in. The Birmingham Seaholm senior ran US #2 4:57.09 1,600m at the Bowling Green Sid Sink High School Indoor meet on Saturday, January 24 to highlight a day of several top performances.
The mark stands as US #2, but let it be known that the Mile is a much more common distance at this time of year. When allowing for conversions from the full mile, Belf's mark stands as US #7. Ryen Frazier's 4:44.2 Mile stands atop the national leaderboard by more than six seconds. Belf owns a personal best of 4:45 in the distance (clocked for both 1,600m and full Mile).
Ersula Farrow, last year's NBN Indoors runner-up over 800m, also kept things rolling in mid-distance action in churning out a US #2 2:11.00 800m. The Oak Park senior led freshman teammate Dorriann Coleman to a US #12 2:16.41 for second place.
Kaylee Anthill doubled in the throwing events, heaving a US #2 57-8.75 Weight Throw and 41-1.75 Shot Put. Her mark in the Weight Throw won by more than 10 feet. On the boys side, Nick Lane threw for US #7 69-3 Weight Throw.
In sprint action, Anna Jefferson clocked US #22 25.07 200m and Frank Douglas tied for US #15 with 8.15 60H.
