Day four, race day!
For starters, woke up, did a normal shake-out run then headed to breakfast with a few people! The breakfast was alright, but for me it wasn't good! My mom really spoils me when it comes to food, and everything else in my life she does! So it couldn't even compare to her amazing cooking! But anyways, the junior boys all headed to the course together about an hour and a half before! we all warmed up together! Well, as warm as we could get! This weather wasn't like beautiful San Diego, I really wish it was! But the race was a great experience overall even with the cold, mud and wind! For my first international race, I definitely took this as a huge learning experience in both racing as well as in life! I was honored to represent everything that I stand for - my religion, my family, and my amazing country! After the race and really after all of us cleaned up, we tried to go buy Scotland merchandise! But we only went to one store because we had a team meeting so it didn't last very long! After the meeting and dinner I don't really know what everyone else did. But Makena and I went to see if any shops were still open, and just had fun together the rest of the night! Which was wonderful! She ran such an amazing race from start to finish! :) and really the whole US team did great, they all ran amazing! And to even be a part of this whole experience I'm extremely grateful and extremely blessed!
