Phillip Rocha wins Division 1 in 14:58 (fastest time of the day)
Phillip Rocha interview and emotional celebration with parents after earning the coveted Cali state title
Outside of Trevor Reinhart's 14:59, Rocha was the only one to eclipse the 15:00 barrier at the hilly Woodward Park course. After capturing his first state title he gives the credit to his parents saying, "the parents are the real MVP." As joyous of a moment it is for Rocha, his family, and the Arcadia crew, his work is not finished. Phillip has decided to move forward with NXN next weekend instead of choosing the Footlocker route. Both National Championships are stacked but Rocha believes Tanner Anderson is the best and is not afraid to toe the line with him in Portland. "I think Tanner Anderson IS number one in the country right now, but I'm going to try to run with him. I know he's human; I'm human, and when we're put on the same course, whatever happens happens."
