Montana State Championships (MT)

October 25, 2014 UM Golf Course in Missoula, MT

Bryn Morley may beat all over old sister Makena's times, but one thing she will not have over big sister is becoming a four-time Montana state champion. That is because the senior and US #12 ranked Makena denied her sister that opportunity in accomplishing the feat on Saturday, while establishing the Montana state meet record in a blistering time of 16:33 on the 3 mile cross country course found at the University of Montana's golf course. Kid sister Bryn Morley is certainly on good pace to take down that record in the future as she was second in the Class B race with a 16:59 performance.

Unfortunately, the Morley's did not get a chance to race against US #10 Annie Hill, as the Glacier freshmen who defeated the sibling duo twice in her last two races against them, won the Class AA race with ease in a time of 17:11. The Class AA division was also were the top two teams faced off and it came down every last runner to decide first between Bozeman (1st, 60 pts) and Hellgate (2nd, 62 pts) with both squads averaging top 5 times into the 18:30's.

It was a great day for the Morley family with not only a 1-2 finish from the Morley girls, but their junior brother Logan Morley took first in the Class B race with arguably his best performance to date in a 15:29 win. Top times of the day belonged to Aidan Reed of Helena as the Class AA champion and Jonathan Eastwood of Belgrade as the Class A champion both running times of 15:22 respectively.  The Bozeman boys nearly put their entire top 5 under 16 minutes and among the top 15 places for the best team performance of the meet in the Class AA division.
