Coming off a freshmen year which he ran nearly 4:20 in the 1600 and posted a 3200 time of 9:30 on the track, Clayton Adams of Kearney has only gotten faster as his sophomore season of cross country has moved along. Literally. His progression of race times have gone from a 16:29 runner-up opener at the Kearney Invite to 16:00 top 10 showing at the Forest Park Festival to 15:53 for fifth place at the Rim Rock Farm Classic to taking a big time drop in a 15:10 5K PR on the very fast Chile Pepper Invite course at the University of Arkansas earlier this month. His last race was a conference championship win to kick off championship season in his home state of Missouri.
