Destiny Collins and Dani Jones led impressive distance crews this past spring with Great Oak (CA) and Desert Vista (AZ) putting down the fastest 5 deep times among their 2014 fall returnees in the 3200 and 1600 meter run nationally. Jones, a 4:43 miler, has two more Desert Vista teammates including sister Baylee who ran under 5 minutes for 1600 this spring. Collins, with a 10:14 3200 PR, leads a deep Great Oak distance squad who has 6 girls back within a minute range of her 3200 best. Both are hoping their team's breakthroughs in the outdoor season continue into the fall as each team is vying for a Nike Cross Nationals berth and potentially top 3 podium finishes.

Performances during the spring in outdoor track can be a great indicator of how cross country teams will perform in the fall. We look at the top 50 best girls programs in country based on their returnees times on the track in the 3200 and 1600 meter run.
