After a somewat disappointing bronze finish in the women's 100 meter finals for the US high school record holder and then a near false start scare prior to her 200 meter finals race (was ultimately allowed to compete and given a yellow card warning due to fault block pedals) at the World Junior Championships, Kaylin Whitney of East Ridge High School in Clermont, Florida put all that behind as she stormed down the straightaway at Hayward Field to a 22.82 gold medal victory in the women's 200.
