
Another piece to the Brooks PR Puzzle is middle distance runner Javon Patterson of Boyd Anderson High School. Patterson is a two-time Florida 4A state runner-up at 800 meters. He will compete in the 800 and brings with him a PR of 1:52.04 to the Brooks PR Invitational on Saturday, June 21st in Seattle.
When did you first learn that you were invited to the Brooks PR Invite and how did your react?
Patterson: My coach told me I was invited after she got an email. When she told me I was glad because of the competition that is going.
What does it mean to you to be invited to the Brooks PR Invitational?
Patterson: It mean a lot to me that I got invited to a big track meet like this.

Patterson: I hope to to go under 1:50 at this meet.
What music do you listen to before races?
Patterson: I don't really listen to music before I run.
If you were stranded on an island with three things what would they be?
Patterson: I would take a knife, water, and a fire starter.
What would you consider as your best or most favorite race of all-time and why?
Patterson: The 800m is my most favorite race because it's a fun raced and is not like the 100 meters. You have to time to think about your next move during the races.
What are some things un-running related people might not know about you?
Patterson: I use to play soccer before an my coach asked me if I would like to try out for track and from there I knew I had the talent for this sport.
How has your training been leading up to the meet?
Patterson: My training has been going good. Practice has been a lot of me running against the clock.
What are you most looking forward about your trip, race, and weekend at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle?

Patterson: I'm looking forward to meeting new runners from all over. I'm also looking forward to having a good time It's a new experience to travel by yourself. As for the race I am looking to have a great race and run under 1:50 up there.
