The 2014 edition of the Golden South Classic had absolute thrillers for their four adidas Grand Prix high school dream race auto qualifiers with Terry Jernigan running the nation's fastest wind-legal time in the boys 100, Teahna Daniels winning on her home track against her top rival Kaylin Whitney in the girls 100, Dani Jones of Arizona reversing the finish order and outcome from Arcadia in another photo finish with Lucy Biles of Utah in the girls mile, and junior Zack Summerall possibly being the biggest surprise winner and Golden Ticker earner in beating field of some of the Southeast's top distance runners for a 4:14 victory in the boys mile.

Three more US #1 times came beyond Jernigan's swift surge down the straightaway in the Dream 100 finals with Kenny Selmon of Georgia beating the old nation's leading time in the boys 400 meter hurdles (36 inch hurdles height) by a full second exactly in a 51.25 clocking, while arguaby the nation's top sprinter Kendal Williams with already an invitation to the Dream 100, rolled to the nation's fastest time in the boys 200 with a 20.55 performance in the finals as he was pressed by two others also under 21 seconds.

The relays for the 4x100 and 4x400 races were predominantly All-Star relays of top sprinters from several different schools forming teams or running for their club teams to produce remarkable times, but the American High School boys from Hileah, Florida did not need any assistance from All-Stars of other schools to win the boys 4x400 meter relay in an incredible national leading time by two seconds of 3:12.12 to break the old Golden South Classic meet record in the process.
