The boys mile race at the Pasco Invitational was incredibly deep with 11 guys breaking 4:20 including a handful clustered around 4:14-4:15 up front in contention late for the win. Nathan Hale's Stuart Smith was the victor in 4:14.21 in the mile race, while Foot Locker Nationals runner-up John Dressel of Mount Spokane finished 2nd in 4:14.66. Another one of the great distance runners to be produced by the state of Washington in North Central's Tanner Anderson, had a runaway win in the 3200 with a strong solo effort of 9:05 at Pasco High School.
Lakeside School freshmen Sophie Cantine had one of the best performances in the meet for the girls on the track in clocking a time of 2:12 in the open 800 for first place. Cantine was coming off a 4:52 PR mile performance at the Arcadia Invitational for fourth place last weekend.
