St. Thomas Aquinas Breaks Their Own 4x200 National Record Two Weeks In A Row!

St. Thomas Aquinas set a national record in the girls 4x200m relay last week at the Texas Relays. So what do you do for an encore? How about re-write the record books. The group had city championships earlier this week, but their was no fatigue on Friday afternoon. The quartet of Krystal Sparling, Diamond Spaulding, Narina Jean-Baptiste, and Kendall Ellis made it no contest early on dominating with a US#1 and meet record time of 1:33.43, nearly three seconds faster than Miami Northwestern and four seconds faster than the meet record set by their counterparts 14 years ago! Northwestern's time of 1:36.41 (US#2) also broke the meet record with a foursome of Robyn Jones, Twanisha Terry, Alexis Harrell, and Timetria Mitchell. Oak Ridge was third in 1:40.84.

Florida Relays Day Three: US#1's Abound As South Florida Teams Sweep 4x1, 4x4, & 4x8 Titles

South Florida cleaned house on the final day of the 2014 Florida Relays producing several meet records, US#1's and nationally ranked performances. Miami Northwestern swept both the girls and boys 4x800m relays while the STA girls reeled in victories in the 4x4 and 4x1 with the Booker T. Washington boys accomplishing the same feat. The 2014 Florida Relays lived up to it's name as one of the premier track adn field meets in the state and around the country. On day one, we saw new state leaders and nationally ranked times from the likes of Javon Patterson, and Terry Jernigan, just to name a few.
