The USA Junior Men fared better individually, placing five in the top ten at the Bupa Great Edinburgh XC Race in Scotland, but the team results were idential runner-up finishes. The men were led by this year's Foot Locker 3rd place finisher Matthew Maton (Bend, OR), in 19:16 for the 6K. He was followed closely by North Central WA teammates Tanner Anderson (NXN 3rd) in 4th in 19:16, and NXN Champion Kai Wilmot, 6th in 19:21. Arcadia (CA) senior Estevan De La Rosa (5th at NXN), was 7th in 19:23, followed by 2012 Foot Locker Finalist Noah Gade (OK), 10th in 19:27. Europe held the team edge by two over the USA 28-30. Great Britain was at 66.
For the women's 4K, the race was dominated by Great Britain, which went 1-3 and five in the top seven. 2012 Foot Locker Finalist Lauren Wood of Ohio was the top American. The Mason HS grad was 6th in 14:24. New Jersey's Megan Curham was 10th (Villa Walsh Academy), just seven seconds back. Curham was a 2012 Foot Locker All American. In 11th was a Foot Locker FInalist from this year, Anna Maxwell (San Lorenzo Valley, CA), in at 14:32. In 12th was Sarah Disanza, High Point Regional NJ (10th at NXN this year), 12th in 14:33. And rounding out the scoring was Taylor Manett (Rockford MI), 14th in 14:37.
