US #1 clearance of 7'1" in high jump on Thursday in VA!

In his first meet of the season, Steven Dunbar of Tallwood High School (VA) cleared a new personal best and US #1 height of 7'1" in the high jump on Thursday at the Conference 1/9 regular season meet at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, Virginia. The performance is tied for VA #2 all-time indoors with two others as only Menchville's Keith Moffatt (2002) has gone higher in state history indoors at 7'2.25". La Salle takes team titles at Dartmouth Relays

Rhode Islanders went home with eight titles in the prestigious event, including a nation No.1 in the DMR by the Lady Rams.

Looker, Shafer, Bergeron, Karam, Sandreuter sets state leaders @ Dartmouth Relays

Day 2 of the Dartmouth Relays saw several Maine athletes place in the top 6 in their respective events. Kellie Bolduc of Waterville set a state leading mark of 36-0 in the triple jump to place 3rd, her teammate Sarah Shoulta ran 9.01 in the 55m hurdles to finish 4th. Yarmouth's Ben Decker was 4th in the 2 mile while Gray New Gloucester's Will Shafer was 5th in the mile with a state leading mark of 4:21.94. Scarborough's Alex Karam ran a state leading 2:02.03 in the 800m. Aleta Looker ripped a 2:16Check out more action

Highlights

Upper Darby High School's Claudine Darby was a double winner in the jumps including a US #6 clearance of 5'7" in the high jump (PA #1) and also posting a US top 25 performance of 17'11" in the long jump.
Strath Haven's Allie Wilson took first in the mile with a PA state leading time of 5:13.57.
Wilson's teammate Kristen Miller also posted a solid time in the distance races with a 2:18.36 victory in the girls 800, which ranks US #12 in the event.
The Strath Haven girls wrapped up the evening setting a new meet record in the 4x400 with a 4:05 clocking.

Cocalico's Emily Stauffer improved on her PA#1 in the shot put with an indoor PA of 44-4.75. The mark improves her to US#6.
Cumberland Valley super soph Mady Clahane posted a nice double, taking the 1600 in a PA#2 5:12.41 in a close race with Pottsville senior Paige Stoner, 2nd in a PA#8 5:15.77, and the 800 in a PA#8 2:22.29. Clahane used the meet as a tune-up to the Millrose Games Trials this coming Wednesday when she will face top US talent, including Foot Locker Champ Tessa Barrett of Abington Heights and returning Millrose Games miler Kennedy Weisner of Elk County Catholic.
Stoner also won the 3000 in a PA#5 10:43.08.
