Bob Firman Invitational, ID

Highlights

  • Kai Wilmot, North Central, won this packed boys field in the elite race with a time of 15:10.  Wolfgang Beck, Gig Harbor, finished 2nd in 15:15.3.  Elijah Armstrong, Pocatello, wound up 3rd in 15:19.2 to edge John Dressel, Mt. Spokane, who was 4th in 15:19.8.  Conner Mantz, Sky View, was 5th in 15:24.6.  Gig Harbor, WA, rolled big time with 63 points to come out well on top of North Central and their 149 point total.  There is a new player in the game!
  • In the girls elite race Lucy Biles, Herriman, won with a time of 17:57.4.  Sarah Feeny, Ogden, was 2nd in 18:10.3.  Davis, UT, girls scored a mere 51 points to come out on top of Park City with 143 points and Skyline with 145.  

 

Cross Country Classic, CA

Highlights

  • Sarah Baxter had some competition but won easily anyway in the girls Sweepstakes race with a time of 15:57.  Marissa Williams finished 2nd in 16:20.  
  • Blake Haney kept himself atop of Estevan De La Rosa in the boys Sweepstakes race with respective times of 13:55 to 13:56.  
  • Arcadia boys, running at full strength, blasted everyone by scoring 57 points on a 54 second spread.  Palos Verdes finished 2nd with 154 points and Great Oak was 3rd with 157.  
  • Simi Valley won the girls race with 94 points but Capistrano Valley put together an impressive 31 second spread to finish 2nd with 151 points.  

 

Arvada West Cross Country Invitational, CO

Coverage

Highlights

  • US#11 Cerake Geberkidane, Denver East, torched the course and the competition with a blazing time of 14:46.50.  The time is believed to be the fastest run on Colorado soil according to Alan Versaw of Colorado Track XC.  

 

Coronado Cougar Classic, CO

Coverage

Highlights

  • Katie Rainsberger, Air Academy, won the girls varsity race with a quick 17:31.80 clocking, 34 seconds ahead of second place Kaleigh Kroeker, Pine Creek.  Pine Creek took the team title with 70 points.
  • Connor Weaver, Mountain Vista, won the boys varsity race with a time of 15:29.90 over Michael Duran, Pueblo Centennial, 15:44.2.  Mountain Vista easily took the team crown with 53 points.

 

John Martin XC Invitational, CO

Coverage

Highlights

  • US#7 Jordyn Colter, Cherry Creek, made the most of the weekend with a win in 17:56 in the girls D1 race.  It was close as Lauren Gregory, Fort Collins, was just behind in 17:59.6.  US#12 Fort Collins won a close one over Cherry Creek by a score of 46 to 51.  
  • Jonah Henry, Laramie, won the boys D1 race with a time of 15:52.6.  Laramie also took the team title with 79 points.

 

adidas Cross Country Challenge, NC

Highlighs

  • In the boys Championship race Phillip Hall, Terry Sanford, won a very tight battle over Wyatt Maxey, Providence, with times of 15:08.5 to 15:08.7.  Broughton ran away with the boys team title with a score of 81.  
  • Caroline Alcorta, West Springfield, dominated the competition in the girls Championship race with a time of 17:18.7.  Second place went to Eliza Dekker, Durham Academy, with a time of 17:53.7.  Blacksburg girls looked impressive, winning the team title over Cardinal Gibbons 69 to 114.  
  • Iowa's Stephanie Jenks surprised everyone by racing in the Open/College race and finishing 3rd with a time of 17:31.  Ravenscroft's Ryen Frazier also competed in this race, finishing 5th in 17:50.6.

 

Apple Valley Eagle Invitational, MN

Highlights

  • Obsa Ali, Richfield, won the boys varsity race with a quick 15:38.8 clocking as the only runner under 16:00 on the day.  Eden Prairie won the team crown with 87 points. 
  • Rachel King, St. Michael-Albertville, won the girls 4k race in 14:29.7.  Edina won the team title over Eden Prairie 70 to 79.

 

Centerville Stampede, OH

Coverage

Highlights

  • A Michigan invasion cleaned house in the girls gold race with Audrey Belf, Seaholm, winning individually in 17:53.9 with teammate Marissa Dobry 2nd in 18:25.8.  Ersula Farrow, Grosse Pointe South, took 3rd with a time of 18:29.2.  Seaholm looked very good as a team as well with a point score of 34 to take the win.  St. Vincent-St. Mary took 2nd with 83 points and Grosse Pointe South was 3rd with 83 points as well.  

 

PIAA Foundation XC Invitational, PA

Highlights

  • US#22 Tessa Barrett, Abington Heights, won the Gold girls race with a blazing time of 17:48, beating the course record by 28 seconds and setting herself up nicely for the state championships on the same course.  US#9 Pennsbury girls survived a scare, winning by 12 points over Mt. Lebanon by a score of 78 to 90.
  • Chris Cummings, West Chester East, won the boys Gold race with a quick 16:13 clocking.  US#19 North Allegheny boys steamrolled everyone with 31 points.  The squad made quite the statement as they averaged 16:33 with a 16 second spread!

 

Northwest Classic, OR

Highlights

  • Ella Donaghu, Grant, won in 17:43 over Hannah Gindlesperger, Summit, in 18:00.  
  • Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski, Forest Grove, won the boys race in 15:41 over Reilly Bloomer, South Eugene, 15:49.

 

Oatlands Invitational, VA

Coverage

Highlights

  • In the boys Varsity A race Louis Colson, Thomas Edison, rolled to the win with a time of 15:16.  Chase Weaverling, Poolesville, was 2nd in 15:28.  Battlefield won the team crown with 147 points.  
  • Emily Mulhern, Urbana, won the girls A race with a time of 18:32 over Allie Klimkiewicz, Oakton, with a time of 18:43.  Oakton won the team title with 91 points.

Highlights

  • Jenna Truedson, Bemidji, won the girls AAAA 4k race with a quick 14:00 clocking.  East Ridge captured the team title with a low 55 points based on the 2-3 finish of Bailey Ness, 14:15.3 and Emily Betz, 14:22.4.  
  • Keeghan Hurley, Perham, won the boys AAAA race with a quick 15:33.4 clocking.  Trent Powell, River Falls, finished 2nd in 15:41.9.  Stillwater won the boys team race with 70 points.

 

Richard Springs Invitational, IL

Coverage

Highlights

  • Patrick Perrier, O'Fallon, rolled to a winning time of 14:24 on the 3 mile layout while Dan Lathrop, Plainfield South, finished 2nd in 14:35.  York, IL, streamrolled everyone, scoring 78 points in a race of 550 runners for the win!  O'Fallon, IL, was 2nd with 140 points.
  • McKenzie Yanek, Pleasant Valley, won the girls race in 16:48 over Lindsay Graham, Glenbard West, with a time of 17:02.  Palatine, IL, took down New Trier, IL, 94 to 140.

 

The Maroon Invitational, NJ

Highlights

  • Josette Norris, Tenafly, rolled in the girls group 3/4 race with a winning time of 18:50, winning by 32 seconds.  

 

Battle at Ocean County Park, NJ

Highlights

  • Kyle Kroon, Toms River South, won the senior boys race with a 15:25.09 clocking, the fastest of the day.  
  • Marin Warner, Holmdel, won the girls junior race in 18:25.40, also the fastest of the day.

 

18th Cherokee Challenge, NJ

Coverage

Highlights

  • The races are run as separate classes, but we find it is much more fun to combine the results.  Louis Corgliano, Hammonton, won the senior race with the best time of 9:30.60.  But Tatnall, DE, boys are looking scary good with a 55 point score in merged results with Conestoga, PA, the next best team with 180 points.  Tatnall had two impressive performers in Jack Hagood, 9:40.20 and Stephen Garrett, 9:41.90.  Watch out for these guys!!
  • Haddonfield, NJ, frosh Briana Gess won overall with a fast time of 10:55.  But the show was all Unionville, PA, who put on a similar show to Tatnall, scoring just 33 points in merged results.  The next best team was Downingtown West, PA, with 117 points.  Courtney Smith and Emily Fisher were 2nd and 3rd overall for Unionville with times of 10:56.70 and 11:06.20.

 

Queensbury Invitational, NY

Highlights

  • In the boys championship race Brian Cook, Pearl River, took top honors with a time of 15:17.95 over TJ Hornberger, Lake Shore, who recorded a 2nd place time of 15:19.30.  Saratoga soph Aidan Tooker was 3rd with a time of 15:25.85.  Liverpool took the team title over Saratoga Springs on a tie breaker with both teams scoring 71 points.  
  • Kennedy Jensen, Canandaigua, won the girls championship race with a time of 17:45.15 with Jessica Lawson, a Corning frosh, 2nd in 17:57.25.  Saratoga Springs won the team race with 115 points with Corning 2nd at 161 points.

Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational, KY

Highlights

  • In the boys varsity race Brentwood, TN, took the top-3 places but wound up second to Carmel, IN, on a 6th runner tiebreaker with both squads scoring 88 points.  Making it even crazier, St. Xavier, OH, was 3rd with 89 points.  What a battle!  Alex Thomas won with a time of 15:05.20 with Taylor Caldwell 2nd in 15:06.70 and Aaron Thomas 3rd in the same time.  St. Xavier had the 4-5 finishers in Michael Hall, 15:10.40 and Evan Stifel, 15:10.50.
  • In the girls varsity race Bailee Dean, Cane Ridge, won with a time of 17:48.50 over Kelcy Welch, Carmel, 17:49.30.  Whitney O'Bryan, Daviess County, was 3rd in 17:51.90.  The Carmel, IN, girls absolutely crushed it, scoring a meager 24 points by putting 5 runners in the top-9 in a race with 340 runners!

 

Briarwood Invitational, PA

Coverage

Highlights

  • Ross Wilson, Council Rock North, won the boys Championship race with a quick 15:51.47 clocking over Kevin James, O'Hara, who recorded a 15:56.47 finish.  Cardinal O'Hara recorded a first place finish with 43 points over Chaminade, NJ, with 65 points.  

 

Alligator Lake XC Invitational, FL

Coverage

Highlights

  • In the boys invite race Sukhi Khosla, Leon, won with a course record clocking of 15:08.62.  Chiles took the team title with 73 points.
  • Emma Rudman, a Fort Walton soph, won the girls invite race with a time of 18:40.92.  Fort Walton Beach won team honors with 54 points.

 

North Port XC Invitational, FL

Highlights

  • Tyler Bennett, Fort Myers, won the boys large schools race with a time of 15:24.9.  Zackery Summerall, Sarasota, was 2nd in 15:32.9.  
  • Araceli Leon, Estero, won the girls large school race with a time of 18:21.9.
