- - -
Analysis: The TSSAA state cross-country champions finished their season last year with a third-place finish at the competitive NXR Southeast Regional meet behind Tatnall and Assumption. They return five varsity runners, including their top four runners from the Southeast regional, including a top trio of Jazzlyn Garmer (17:39.40), Carolina Areheart (17:55.50) and Calysta Garmer (17:59.62).
They got off to a hot start already this season at the Providence Cross Country Invitational where they dominated to the tune of a team score of 41 points, a 18:27 top-five average and with their top three runners averaging 17:37 for the 5K. So in the early stages of the 2024 season, the Webb School of Knoxville girls cross country team has already demonstrated their impressive depth and competitive edge.
