2023 Notable XC Finishes: 1st at the adidas XC Challenge, 1st at the Louisville XC Classic, 1st at the WV State XC Meet, 5th at Foot Locker South Region Championships, and 6th at Foot Locker Nationals.
Analysis: It was an incredible 2023 cross-country season for Steorts, one that saw him go undefeated from September through October with major wins at the adidas XC Challenge with a new PR of 14:38.80, the Louisville XC Classic and a West Virginia state title with a dominant 14-second victory. Steorts then raised the game finishing as the #2 junior at the Foot Locker South Regional and as #2 junior at Foot Locker Nationals.
This spring, he also had a standout track and field season, finishing 4th in both the 2-mile and 5K at Nike Indoor Nationals, winning both the 1600m and 3200m titles at the WVSSAC State Championships, and finishing 6th in the mile (4:06.58) and 2nd in the 3200m (8:46.53) at the RunningLane Track Championships.
