Brianna Selby, Dana Wilson Cruise Across Opposite Meets In Virginia

Virginia Beach Relays results - Liberty Premier results
The top two girls sprinters from North Carolina and Virginia squared off on Saturday, in neighboring meets.
In Virginia Beach, defending New Balance Nationals and adidas Indoor Nationals champion Brianna Selby (above) opened up her season at the Virginia Beach Relays, cruising to a new U.S. No. 1 time of 6.94 in the 55m (en route) and a U.S. No. 4 effort of 7.47 in the 60m. The Indiana River (VA) senior is among the top sprinters in the country.
Fast approaching, however, might be a foil from North Carolina.
Roughly 250 miles northwest of Selby was Greensboro Day School's (NC) Dana Wilson, who clocked a U.S. No. 4 time of 6.98 seconds at the Liberty Premier Invitational.
Wilson, a high school junior, finished off her sophomore season with a runner-up finish in the 60m at Nike Indoor Nationals and a 12th-place finish in the 200m.
She followed up her 55m opener with a time of 40.20 in the 300m, a top 25 performance nationally thus far.
With plenty of season in front of both athletes, much will be determined.
For the time being, these two were closely aligned on Saturday.
