Crayton Carrozza Nabs National Lead In The 1500m
- - -
There's been at least one luxury to Crayton Carrozza's season of (age defined) ineligibility.
He's been able to find the right races.
After setting what was then a US No. 1 mark of 1:50.64 in the 800m at The Texas Relays at the end of March, the Austin St. Stephens athlete travelled to Irvine, California, this weekend to race in the 1500m.
And yet again, Carrozza left with another national lead, hitting 3:46.24 on the clock to finish second overall among collegiate athletes at the Steve Scott Invitational.
Carrozza battled with Carlos Santos, an athlete from Brazil, ultimately following just behind his 3:44.59 winning effort.
Carrozza's effort is the third-fastest time since 2017, just sitting behind two efforts from Brodey Hasty (3:43.77) and Dalton Hengst (3:45.59) from last year.
Carrozza is currently US No. 2 in the 800m.
