Eastern Relays 3200m

Friday night at the Eastern Relays saw some tough racing conditions with rain and wind, but that didn't stop some of the nations best athletes from throwing down.
In the girls 3200m, we got to see Beavercreek's (OH) Taylor Ewert open up with her first 3200m of the season. The junior clocked a 10:45.58, in the challenging conditions. Behind her with a strong closing kick was Highland-Medina's (OH) Kaylie Kenne. Keene ran a 10:46.42 which was just off her PR of 10:40.30.
Placing third was Ewert's teammate Savannah Roark who ran 10:51.22.
In the boys 3200m we were expecting some big things with so many guys having the potential to run sub-9-minutes, but with conditions being the way they were that wasn't the case. Howland's (OH) Vincent Mauri still ran a strong race to win running 9:12.28. He was followed by Knoxville Catholic High School's (TN) Jake Renfree in second (9:14.64) and Centennial High School's Davis Bove in third (9:16.45).
