16.
Athlete: Nick Foster
Year: Class of 2019
School: Ann Arbor Pioneer
Analysis: Nick Foster has huge potential this season. He made some big leaps during the 2018 track season which indicates that this cross country season could be his strongest ever.
Foster ran sub-nine-minutes in the 3200m at the Golden Triangle Invitational soloing an 8:54.80. He also won the MHSAA State Championships 3200m running 9:07.93. He not only excelled in the 3200m but also the mile and full two-mile as well. At the Brooks PR Invitational Forster clocked in a 4:05.50 for the full mile placing second. A week later at New Balance Nationals Outdoor, he won the two-mile running 8:59.46.
Last year in cross country he was the top guy in the state of Michigan, winning the Division 1 MHSAA State Championships in 15:16.10. He was unable to make it to Foot Locker Nationals after he placed 12th in the Midwest Region. His lack of national cross country meet experience is the only thing which keeps him out of the top 10 in the nation. If he can get some big wins throughout the season he will definitely be moving up the MileSplit rankings.
