Lauren Rain Williams has blossomed from a youth star to a high school track and field titan while still only in her sophomore year at Oaks Christian High School. The California state meet runner-up in 100m and 200m wants gold at Brooks PR - especially since the 100m will be a rematch with California state champion Zaria Francis.
Francis, a junior at Rio Mesa, has traded wins back and forth with Williams all season. Both girls rank within the top three in the nation in both the 100m and 200m. Ranked U.S. No. 1 in both events is Dream 100 champion Candace Hill of Rockdale Co., Georgia, who will also compete at Brooks PR.
