Sydney McLaughlin (Union Catholic) can't be stopped. The sophomore sensation killed the 400m, racing to not only a US #1 53.72 but setting a new NJ Meet of Champions Meet Record and Venue Record.
The sophomore also ran just two-hundreths of a second off her nation-leading time in the 55H, clocking 7.82 for the win. Only Ebony Williams of Parkland, NC has run faster this year at 7.81. She returned for the final event of the evening, the 4x400m, in which she led her Union Catholic squad to a 3:50.32 championship. The time is just one second off their season best.
The Union Catholic ladies weren't the only ones to rep their school as the boys also stole the show in the 4x400m, edging Old Bridge, 3:24.54 to 3:24.55.
The squad's star, Michigan signee Taylor McLaughlin, clocked US #9 48.33 to win the open 400m.
In the distance events, Epiphany Devon Grisbaum ran a 10-second season-best, US #12 10:45.20 3,200m to emerge victor over Foot Locker finalist Eve Glasergreen (US #15 10:47.44).
Millrose Games champion Catherine Pagano won the 800m in 2:11.89, holding off Kathleen Jaeger (2:13.85). Pagano is currently ranked US #4 in the event as one of just four girls to break 2:10 this year.
