The Trinity Prep boys, fresh off their 4th straight 2A Cross Country Finals championship are the top boys team from Florida entered in NXNSE this weekend. The group advanced to Nike Cross Nationals in Portland in 2015 after a runner-up finish at this meet. See where they rank against the southeast's best squads.

The Pine Crest girls broke a streak of four consecutive 2A runner-up finishes behind Bolles, beating the Bulldogs, and hoisting the championship trophy in 2016. The Panthers ended the state series ranked as the number one team in our Saucony Flo 50 rankings and hope to keep that momentum heading into NXNSE this weekend in Cary, North Carolina. 

Sukhi Khosla ran the fastest time ever by a Floridian at NXNSE in 2014 when he finished runner-up in 14:56.00. Only two other Sunshine State standouts Elliot Clemente (2012 champion) and Franco Martins (2014) have broken 15 minutes on the Wake Med course during this meet. Winter Park junior Rafaella Gibbons already has her name in the Florida history books as the only girls individual to qualify for Nike Nationals not just once, but twice. Gibbons finished sixth overall in 2014 and improved on that showing with a third place finish in 2015 running 17:30.80, the fastest ever by a Sunshine State girl at NXNSE. The top three performances by Florida athletes all came from that race.

Pine Crest freshman Tsion Yared and Bolles junior Caitlin Collier continued their spectacular cross country seasons by finishing 4th and 6th respectively in times of 17:42.40 and 17:55.90 to advance from the NXN Southeast Regional to Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon.
