2023 Notable XC Finishes: 1st at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, 1st at the ASICS Clovis XC Invitational and 2nd at the CIF CCS XC Championships.
Analysis: It was a short but sweet cross-country season last fall for Pretre, running only four races all season, but making a big impression in every single one. Pretre started off his season at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, finishing 1st in his division with a time of 14:46.40 for the 3-mile race. From there, Pretre went on to finish 2nd in his division at the CIF CCS XC Championships and 1st at the ASICS Clovis XC Invitational with his 5K PR of 14:52.
It was a more extensive season for Pretre for the spring track season, where Pretre set new PRs from every distance from 400m up to 3200m. Some highlights from his track season included a 7th place finish in the 3200m (8:50.47) at the CIF State Championships, a 25th place finish in the 3200m at the Arcadia Invitational, and a 24th place finish in the mile at Nike Outdoor Nationals.
