19.
Team: Corning, New York
Analysis: Corning will enter 2018 with huge upside. Last season, they took home a New York State Championships Class A state title, scoring 38 points, before going on to a runner-up finish at the Nike Cross Nationals New York Regional with 98 points. At Nationals, in Portland, the Hawks placed 12th overall.
Three of the top five and five of the top seven runners from that team are back. Nathan Lawson, Bryce Derick, and Torrey Jacobson-Evans all finished in the top 40 at the New York State Class A meet and top 50 at the NXN New York Regional. Having guys on the team who gained national-level experience will provide a major advantage. Corning's biggest obstacle in New York Class A remains the guys from Fayetteville-Manlius (FM).
