Athlete: Adelyn Ackley

Analysis: One of the breakout stars of 2017 was Ackley, who opened her season last August with a smashing good time of 16:54.50, which finished the season as the ninth best effort nationally. While she didn't produce a sub-17 time the rest of the season, Ackley was impressively consistent, logging 13 wins and 11 times under 18 minutes, none more important than her Michigan Lower Peninsula Division 3 state title (17:49.40), her eighth-place score at Foot Locker Midwest (17:43.80) and her All-American finish at Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego, where she was 10th in 18:00.00.
Ackley is ready for an encore, only this time the expectations are much higher. She enters the 2018 season as one of the top returners in Michigan and is an athlete capable of scoring high at the national level.
