Watch out for Asani Hampton.
The Yucaipa (CA) High senior, who doubled with wins in the 100m and 200m at the Chandler Rotary Invitational in Arizona on Saturday, now has four wind-legal 100m times in the range of 10.53-10.57 on the young season.
Hampton has already put his name on a list of one of the nation's best sprinters, someone capable of winning any given race.
Perhaps his top 100m performance came this weekend in the 100m, where he exploded out of the blocks in near perfect conditions (+0.2) to win in 10.54 seconds.
He doubled back later to set a new season best of 21.26 (+1.0) in the 200m, which was his third-straight outing under 22 seconds.
His career best is 20.94, from the CIF SS Division I Prelims, though it was an all-conditions time.
The sprinter certainly could be in contention for a national performance in June.
