Analysis: Lane did little wrong in 2016, winning the California Interscholastic Federation state championship in a season PB of 16:45.00, taking the Foot Locker West Regional, and then following with a win at Foot Locker Nationals in 17:04.81. During the regular season, when she also tore up 3-mile courses, she set a personal best of 16:16.70 at Woodbridge and won CIF Southern Section in 16:30.11. Over the spring, she raced to PBs in the 1600m of 4:51.27 and 9:57.52 in the 3200m. She was second in the 2-mile at Brooks PR.
