Has Christian Coleman closed the case on the argument of whether NFL 40-yard dash times are truly special?
Are they even that fast?
Coleman, a two-time state champion in the 100m and 200m for Atlanta Our Lady of Mercy (Ga.) High, maybe answered that question in 4.12 seconds.
The University of Tennessee junior and former Atlanta Our Lady of Mercy (Ga.) High sprint star ran the 40-yard dash at the Volunteer's practice football facility with fully automatic timing and crushed the NFL record of 4.22 seconds with near ease.
The NFL Draft Combine 40-yard dash, which is run by future prospects inside Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium with zero pads, helmets or uniforms, was broken this year by former California High sprinter John Ross.
Ross' elusive speed ultimately pushed him up NFL Draft boards to the No. 9 overall pick, earning him millions of dollars.
But guess what?
Coleman, the NCAA Indoor champion in the 60m and 200m, is much, much faster!
