The VA Showcase this weekend certainly has its draw of big national times from within the state of Virginia and outside of it. An athlete that might start gaining more national recognition out of the state in Virginia already saturated with national elite talent is William Fleming's Azavier Kirtley. Kirtley ranks currently US #7 in the 500 at 1:05.08 and is knocking on the door of sub 35 seconds in the 300. He gets a chance to race against current US leader Chantz Sawyers of High Point Christian (NC) at the VA Showcase.
