Last year, a reconfigured course saw Casey Clinger and Courtney Wayment drop the fastest times in Utah state meet history--14:52.8 and 17:24.7, respectively--over the three-mile course to win the Class 5A titles. With Clinger, the No. 1-ranked runner in the country, returning to the field along with a total of 14 nationally ranked teams and individuals, this Wednesday at Sugar House Park might just be the most exciting state meet in the nation.
Casey Clinger talks after winning the Nike Cross Nationals title and leading American Fork to a runner-up team finish in 2015. The Utah state meet is the first step on the Cavemen's postseason journey.
