For the all-star girls distance relays: 4x800 and the 4xmile, we created the teams like we did the sprint relays.
The 4x800 was simple, we just took the top 4 800 times, combined them into a team, and calculated the total time. However, the 4xmile was a little more difficult because a lot of states don't run the mile. We included converted 1500m and 1600m times.
In the 4x800, New York, anchored by Sammy Watson, takes the title easily with a fast time of 8:24.98! Looking at this time compared to the college championship race at Penn Relays, this New York team would have come in first, outrunning the champion Georgetown (8:26.02). This time also crushes the high school 4x800 record of 8:43.12. Although let's not sell the other top teams short, as a whole, the top 9 teams run under 8:40, which is very impressive as well.
