There were three national elites from the Vermont state meet, and they all came from the girls. With each one split between the three divisions, sophomore Rena Schwartz came out as the D2 State Champion and fastest overall in 19:23. No fluke for the U-32 HS athlete who ranks VT #2 on the year with her 18:24 from the Manchester Invite in September.

With a few elite athletes at the front of each division, it would've made for a killer finish had they all competed head to head. Since they didn't, the fastest time of the day came from Stowe senior William McGovern. Only two athletes broke the 17 minute barrier His 16:47 was earned him the individual D3 state title and helped Stowe win the team race as well.
