This is my fifth week of training and I started adding more mileage to my runs! I did a lot better in my workouts this week also:). I also cross trained two times this week instead of usually cross training only once throughout the week.
Monday - I started off the week with a 5 mile run with a fast pace. I felt pretty good and my legs felt fresh. Then I did core afterwards.
Tuesday - I did three, 1 mile repeats on a half mile loop. I ran faster than the times my coach gave me and faster than the times I was running at the same time last year. After the repeats we ran down to a bridge and did 3 short and 3 long sprints up the hill. I warmed up and cooled down for 1 mile. Then I cross trained doing 15 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the bike.
Wednesday - I ran 5 miles also at a fast pace and did core after my run. During my run I felt sore from yesterday but I was still able to run fast comfortably.
Thursday - I ran 5 miles again at an even faster pace than yesterday and did core afterwards. My legs felt better than yesterday and I was really comfortable while I was running.
Friday - I ran 4 miles at decent pace and did core afterwards. I went a little easier today considering I have Clermont tomorrow and my legs still didn't feel fresh! I also cross trained today doing 15 minutes on the elliptical.
Saturday - We went to Clermont and did six, 400 meter hill repeats on the steepest hill at Clermont. I was consistent with my times and I ran faster than I was running at the same time last year:). After the hill repeats I ran 3 miles at a fast pace even though I was super tired from the repeats!
