MileSplit All-American Team - Girls High Jump Presented by New Balance
Vashti Cunningham set broke both the HS National Record and American Youth Record in the High Jump this year.
1. Vashti Cunningham (Bishop Gorman, NV - Jr.) - The U.S. No. 1 high jumper broke both the HS National Record and the American Youth Record with her 6-4.25 jump to win the Mt. Sac Relays. Cunningham also finished first at the Arcadia Invite and first at the USATF Jr. Nationals to earn a spot on the U.S. Pan Am team.
2. Nicole Greene (Ponte Vedra, FL - Sr.) - The Florida state champion in the high jump went undefeated this season, en route to capturing victories at the Pepsi Florida Relays, the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational in Cuba, and at New Balance Nationals Outdoor where she jumped the U.S. No. 2 mark of 6-1.5. She was also the New Balance Nationals Indoor Champion.
3. Alexus Henry (Bridge City, TX - Sr.) - Henry captured her second consecutive Texas state title in the high jump this year to cap off her undefeated season. She took first at the Texas Relays and cleared six feet on two separate occasions this season, putting her at U.S. No. 3 on the year. Her jump of 5-10.25 at the Texas State meet is the Texas 4A state meet record.
4. Tyra Gittens (Ensworth, TN - So.) - Gittens defended her Tennessee state title in the high jump this year, capping off her undefeated season. She finished off the year ranked U.S. No. 3 with her clearance of six feet at the Scott Hartman Relays
5. Erin Beattie (Buena, CA - Sr.) - The California state champion had an almost undefeated year, suffering her only lose to U.S. No. 1 Vashti Cunningham at the Arcadia Invite. Beattie finished off the year tied for U.S. No. 10 with her 5-10 jump at Arcadia.
6. Alexandria Florent (Harvard Westlake, CA - Sr.) - The U.S. No. 5 in the high jump finished fourth at the California state meet, third at New Balance Nationals Outdoor, and second at USATF Jr. Nationals where she jumped her PR of 5-11.
7. Janae Moffitt (Oak Hill, IN - Sr.) - Moffitt was tied for U.S. No. 5 on the year with her 5-11 mark from the Marion Relays. She went on to take first at the IHSAA state meet and first at the Midwest Meet of Champions.
8. Faith Penny (East Islip, NY - Sr.) - At New Balance Nationals Outdoors, Penny cleared a nearly two-inch personal best height of 5-9.75 to finish runner-up. She also finished second at the New York state meet.
