MileSplit All-American Team - Girls Long Jump Presented by New Balance
Kate Hall broke the National Record in the Long Jump with her 22-5 jump at New Balance Nationals Outdoor.
1. Kate Hall (Lake Region, ME - Sr.) - Hall is the National Record Holder in the Long Jump. The U.S. No. 1 athlete broke the 36-year-old record with her 22-5 jump at New Balance Nationals Outdoor, taking home the national title. She went undefeated this season in the Long Jump en route to capturing her fourth Maine state title as well as the victory at the New England Championship meet.
2. Courtney Corrin (Harvard Westlake, CA - Jr.) - The California state champion in the Long Jump took home victories at the Arcadia Invitational and at the Caribbean Scholastic Invite in Cuba where she represented the U.S. At New Balance Nationals she took second. However, just one week later Corrin took first at the USATF Jr. Nationals with her All-Conditions U.S. No. 5 all time jump of 21-6. This victory earned her a spot on the U.S. Pan Am team as well as the U.S. No. 2 mark on the year.
3. Tara Davis (Agoura, CA - So.) - Davis jumped the U.S. No. 3 mark of 20-6 on the year. She finished third at the California state meet and second at the Arcadia Invite. Davis also took the victory at the World Youth Trials.
4. Samiyah Samuels (Cypress Springs, TX - Jr.) - Samuels won the Long Jump at the Texas state meet with her All-Conditions U.S. No. 3 jump of 20-7.75 (+2.5). She also jumped a wind-aided 20-6 to finish second at the USATF Jr. Nationals, earning her a spot on the U.S. Pan Am team.
5. Margaux Jones (Redlands, CA - Sr.) - Jones jumped the U.S. No. 6 mark of 20-4.25 at the California state meet where she finished second. She also finished second at the Mt. Sac Relays and third at the USATF Jr. Nationals.
6. Sydnei Murphy (Apex, NC - Sr.) - Murphy defended her North Carolina state title this year with her victory in the Long Jump at the NCHSAA 4A State meet where she jumped the U.S. No. 7 mark of 20-3. She also took third at New Balance Nationals Outdoor.
7. Nicole Greene (Ponte Vedra, FL - Sr.) - Greene jumped the U.S. No. 5 mark of 20-5 into a -2.3 headwind to take home the victory at the Florida state meet.
8. Daloria Boone (Baldwin, GA - Fr.) - The freshman phenom nabbed the final All-American spot at New Balance Nationals Outdoor to add to her Georgia state title. She consistently jumped with the 19 to 20 foot range all year, including her season-best 20-4 jump to put her at U.S. No. 9 on the year.
