MileSplit All-American Team - Boys 3200m/2 Mile Run Presented by New Balance
Drew Hunter ran a U.S. No. 9 All-Time 8:42.51 in the 2 Mile at Brooks PR Invitational!
1.Andrew Hunter (Loudoun Valley, VA - Jr.) - Hunter showed up at the end of the season beating Grant Fisher to win the Brooks PR 2 mile with a U.S. No. 9 All-Time run of 8:42.51. He's only a junior and he's already on the board just behind some of the top names in the sport! He really showed up at the end of the season, taking runner-up in both the adidas Dream Mile and USATF Junior 1500m Championship.
2. Grant Fisher (Grand Blanc, MI - Sr.) - Fisher would be number one on the list if it wasn't for Hunter's upset win over him at Brooks PR. The Michigan senior finished second at Brooks, only a second behind Hunter (8:43.57), but still has the second fastest time in the country this year.
3. Mikey Brannigan (Northport, NY - Sr.) - Brannigan Is the New York State 3200m record holder, with his time of 8:42.92 which he ran at the Glen D. Loucks Games. The senior finished third at the adidas Dream Mile running a 4:03.18.
4. Alex Ostberg (Darien, CT - Sr.) - Ostberg was the Penn Relays 3000m champion running 8:23.95. The five time Connecticut State Champ ran a 8:43.93 (U.S. No. 2) in the 3200m at the Glenn D. Loucks Games finishing just behind Brannigan. Due to an injury, the senior was unable to run in the post season.
5. John Dressel (Mount Spokane, WA - Sr.) - Dressel won two state titles this season in both the 1600m (4:15.26) and 3200m (9:00.32). The senior finished off his season running a 8:50.07 at the Brooks PR Invitational to take third, behind Hunter and Fisher.
6. Robert Brandt (Loyola, CA - Sr.) - Brandt pulled together a solid post-season after finishing runner-up in the 3200m to Webb at the California state meet. There he ran a 8:51.97, but only a few weeks later, he came back to place fourth at the Brooks PR Invitational 2 Mile in a time of 8:51.59 and beat Webb.
7. Caleb Webb (Big Bear, CA - Sr.) - Webb beat Brandt to win the California State 3200m title, running 8:47.30. The senior ended his high school career running both the Brooks PR 2 Mile finishing 10th and a week later, the USATF Junior Championship 5k, where he finished fifth in 14:56.77.
8. Carter Blunt (Frisco, TX - Jr.) - The junior was both the Texas 1600m (4:10.35) and 3200m (9:02.98) state champion. He capped off his season finishing first in the 2 Mile (8:58.03) and second in the Mile at NBNO (4:10.74).
