9. John Lewis (PA) - Boys 800m Champion
He got out faster than he wanted he wanted to with a 49 second first 400 meter split, but Cheltenham (PA) senior John Lewis knew there was no stopping or slowing down on that last lap. A national title was on the line. Back in the field was 2014 World Youth Olympic Games 800 meter champion Myles Marshall from Texas also coming for him.
Lewis held it together down the final stretch despite Marshall (2nd, US #3 1:48.86) making up several seconds on the final 200 meters to win in a new personal best time of 1:48.33 and improve upon US #2 ranking in the 800. His time also shattered the Pennsylvania state 800 meter record in the process.
