11. Carter Blunt (TX) - Boys 2 Mile Champion & Boys Mile Runner-Up
Carter Blunt has consistently been one of the top distance runners if not the best from the state of Texas over the past 7 months of his junior year. Over the weekend, Blunt showed why he is also one of the best of the nation, especially in returning for 2016.
The sub 9 minute two miler from Frisco Independence High School in Blunt was no stranger to racing in hot weather from Texas. After a 4:34 first mile split, Blunt found himself in position for the win in the final 200 and blasted the final straightaway to a 8:58.03 PR victory on Saturday evening.
An All-American at Foot Locker Nationals and NXN qualifier from the fall, Blunt came back on the final day of competition on Sunday to grab national runner-up honors in the mile with a another personal best effort for him at 4:10.74.
