All-Americans Wanted In NB Nationals Boys 400m Hurdles

A battle between US#1, US#2, US#3....and US#4 is set to take place in the 400m hurdles in Greensboro. Nation leader, Rai Benjamin, made it to the semi-finals at World Youths in this event a year ago. With a personal best of 50.45 he sits just half a second out of the Top Ten All-Time list but less than four tenths of a second ahead of Texas junior Norman Grimes. Being from the Lone Star State, Grimes has a background in the shorter 300m Hurdle race, not the 400m hurdles. He gave it a crack this past weekend at the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational where he won in a US#2 50.80.

Add in Taylor McLaughlin, the New Jersey Champ. The Michigan Wolverine to be has an illustrious career at these events, running on many Union Catholic Relay Teams over the past four years. With 46.80 400m speed, McLaughlin could easily take it from the two ranked ahead of him.
