Anna Cockrell has the fastest time in the field with her 13.21 which she ran at the NCRunners/SCRunners Elite Tune-Up just this past weekend. The nine time North Carolina State champ finished third last year at New Balance Nationals Outdoor and was runner up in the 60mH at this years New Balance Nationals Indoor. The junior has been undefeated in the event this year!
Although Cockrell has the best time but she will have to bring her A game if she wants to take the title form last years New Balance Nationals Outdoor champion Alexis Duncan! The junior has only lost one race the whole season, and that was to fellow Texan Tonea Marshall. Marshall a junior from Arlington Seguin, won both the Texas Relays with a wind aided time of 13.27 and the Texas State 5A Championship in 13.55.
Other contenders who will be in the mix are four time Virginia state champ, Funlayo Oluwole who's ranked U.S. #4 with a time of 13.38 and five time Florida State champ Kimani Rushing.
