This field features U.S. #2 ranked (13.50) Chad Zallow, who finished runner up in the 60mH at the New Balance Nationals Indoor this past winter. Last year at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor the senior finished 8th.
The reigning New Balance Nationals Indoor champ Grant Holloway will have to run faster then he has all year in the 110mH to claim the outdoor crown as well. Holloway is currently ranked U.S. #23 with a time of 13.91. The junior is a six time Virginia State Champion, and has a wind aided personal best of 13.61.
Another person who is right in the mix for the win is Chevis Armstead who has the 4th fastest time in the country this year running 13.64 to take second at the Texas Relays. The senior finished third at the Texas State Meet running a wind aided 13.40. Ranked sixth in the country, and third in the field just behind Armstead is Daniel Roberts. The junior won the Georgia Olympics 110mH (13.81) and 300mH (36.97).
