Boys 3200m
1. Mikey Brannigan (Northport, NY - Sr.) - The defending New Balance Nationals Outdoor Two Mile champion is running his best all year at exactly the right time. He won the epic Loucks Games 3200m in a New York State Record of 8:42.92, while leading the top 10 runners under nine minutes. Brannigan also boasts top miler speed, finishing runner-up in the Prefontaine Classic (4:05.78) and the Penn Relays Mile (4:09.61).
2. Grant Fisher (Grand Blanc, MI - Sr.) - Fisher has run "just" 8:53.41 (U.S. No. 13) this year, but he is undefeated in high school competition over the past two years and ended the 2014 season as the top-ranked two miler with his 8:51.28 win at the Brooks PR Invitational. He is scheduled to defend his Brooks PR title again and already made headlines this spring as the seventh prep in history to break four minutes in the mile.
3. Drew Hunter (Loudon Valley, VA - Jr.) - The junior ran U.S. No. 6 All-Time indoors (8:48.22) to win New Balance Nationals. He set the National Sophomore Class Record in the 3k (8:16.31) to win Penn Relays last year and dominated the Carnival's mile this year, clocking U.S. No. 7 4:07.15. He is the nation's top-ranked runner for Two Miles with his 8:52.3, a solo effort. Hunter's only individual loss this spring was in the state meet 800m, as he placed runner-up in 1:54 in an off-event for him.
4. Jesse Reiser (McHenry, IL - Sr) - The University of Illinois recruit won the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in April, though he ran even faster with a solo 8:49.4 effort at a local invitational to rank U.S. No. 7 this year. He is the two-time Illinois state champion for 3200m and was an All-American at both Foot Locker and NXN in the fall.
5. Alex Ostberg (Darien, CT - Sr.) - The Stanford-bound senior ended his season prematurely with a stress fracture, but his list of accolades garners him a spot on this list. Ostberg finished runner-up to Brannigan at the Loucks Games, clocking U.S. No. 2 8:43.99 to set the all-time Connecticut state record. He also won the Penn Relays Carnival 3k (U.S No. 2 8:23.95) and is the defending New Balance Nationals Outdoor 5k champion. Ostberg is also a two-time Foot Locker All-American and ranks U.S. No. 8 All-Time in the indoor two mile with his 8:48.88 third place finish at New Balance Nationals.
6. Caleb Webb (Big Bear, CA - Sr.) - The two-time California state cross country champion won his first state title on the track last weekend, clocking 8:47.30 to rank U.S. No. 5. Webb, who will run for the University of Portland next year, finished third at NXN in the fall.
7. Joe Klecker (Hopkins, MN - Sr.) - The senior is undefeated in the 1600m and 3200m this spring, as he most recently won his first Minnesota state titles in both events. He ranks U.S. No. 8 with his solo 8:50.12. He also set the all-time Minnesota state record in the 1600m at U.S. No. 5 4:06.54.
8. Elijah Armstrong (Pocatello, ID - Sr.) - The Boise State-bound senior is a consistent top performer and his lone loss this year was at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational to Reiser. He ranks U.S. No. 11 with his 8:52.16 from Arcadia and most recently won his third consecutive Idaho state title in the event. Armstrong is a two-time champion in the New Balance Nationals Indoor 5k.
9. Robert Brandt (Loyola, CA - Sr.) - Brandt was the first athlete to break nine minutes for 3200m this year when he won the Redondo Nike Festival in early March. The senior is a consistent performer, taking sixth place at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational and runner-up honors at the California state meet with his personal best 8:51.97.
10. Eli Moskowitz (Souhegan, NH - Sr.) - The senior set the New Hampshire all-time state record in the 3200m with his 8:44.79, third place performance at the Loucks Games. The five-time New Hampshire state champion, a first-time Foot Locker finalist last fall, ranks U.S. No. 3 in the event.
