Girls Highlights:
- Sophomore Reonna Collier ran a U.S. #4 time of 41.24 to win the 300mH. Collier was unable to run this past school year for her high school team due to transfer issues. She was stripped of the medals she earned her Freshman year because of these same problems. The sophomore is planning on trying out for junior worlds later this summer. She’s looking to run around a 56 in the 400mH.
- Looking to run one last solid time before the season was over, junior Mikayla Sodersten ran a 4:57.58 to win the Varsity girls mile. Sodersten finished seventh in the 3200m last weekend at the California State Meet Running a time of 10:24:37.
- Emelda Malm-Annan, of Golden State set a personal best and U.S. #4 in the Hammer throw of 175.9 feet (53.57m).
- Victoria Powell won the 200m dash in 25.27 and took second behind Collier in the 400m dash with a time of 53.85. Powell came all the way from Lovett Georgia to compete in the Golden West Invitational.
Boys Highlights:
- In the boys hammer throw Steven Tofanelli 203-9 to win the meet, set a new pr and throw a new U.S. #5!
- Julian Body from Jesuit Oregon won both the boys 110mH and 300mH running 14.39 and 37.44. Body’s time is the 13th fastest 300mH and 28th fastest 110mH time for a junior in the country.
